The AMETEK Western Research 9933 is an industrial gas analyzer designed for continuous measurement of hydrogen sulphide (H₂S), carbonyl sulphide (COS) and methyl mercaptan (CH₃SH) in natural gas streams. It combines ultraviolet (UV) photometric detection with frontal elution chromatography to separate sulphur compounds from interfering gases. Optional infrared and thermal conductivity measurements extend its capabilities to carbon dioxide (CO₂) and hydrogen (H₂).

Designed for outdoor installation, the 9933 features an IP66 enclosure, integrated sample conditioning and heating, and a touchscreen interface for local operation. Its dual chromatography columns alternate between sample analysis and regeneration, supporting continuous measurement without chemical reagents or consumables. This configuration helps reduce maintenance requirements while providing reliable sulphur measurements for natural gas processing, quality control and pipeline monitoring.

Key applications
