The Western Research 888 provides continuous UV-based measurement of hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) and sulphur dioxide (SO₂) in sulphur recovery tail gas. It is built on the same proven technology as the 800NSL and is designed to simplify installation and reduce maintenance in Claus and tail-gas treating units.

Mounted directly on the process pipe (climate permitting), the 888 eliminates shelters, heated lines, and full sample conditioning. Automatic flow control, flange-temperature monitoring, and an extended ambient range support stable operation in harsh environments.

Two configurations are available. The compact 888 installs directly at the sample point, while the 888L places the electronics remotely and uses a demister probe with heated lines for locations that require added accessibility or protection.
